Additional profile customization appears to be another suggestion that would try to turn the RIA profile page into something akin to MySpace. Frankly, this isn't MySpace, and the present uniformity adds to both the form and function of RIA. The profile pages are already a bit busy, so giving carte blanc to members designing their profiles would only make matters worse. I suppose that I would like to tinker a bit (increasing the default number of trusted reviews showing and the number of my weblists that show immediately comes to mind), but too much moving around, color, and font choices would most likely result is less useful profiles.

As a web enthusiast (and web designer) I would find this fascinating, creative fun and a way to really do something unique with my page. I've been writing HTML code and designing web pages for about 11 years now and dont mind putting in copious time perfecting my work. So, I would be a good candidate to give it a shot I think as Im sure many people on RIA would be as well. However, I see Magellan's point and I know that we are all going to be operating from various skill levels, attitudes and approaches. This has the potential to be both a visual feast or a complete train wreck.

I'm really torn on this one. On the one hand, it's fun to be able to really customize your page. But some of the MySpace pages are so heinous, so by opening it up, you run the risk of thousands of ugly ass pages.
