I realy don't mind this too much. I like to dig through the various topics and related items which the search results bring up. To me it's not a bother.

This feature is definitely needed in my opinion. Perhaps I'm just search feature challenged (i.e. we can already filter searches), but it would be nice to limit searches to just list and/or item names. For instance, if I want to locate all lists for Madonna and lists with a Madonna song/album included as an item, I don't want to see every comment that mentions her when I search RIA.
