We had this feature at one time. It seems as though it was taken away. It was beneficial for the use of emphasis within a comment.Of course, for now I can work around it, and settle for the occasional CAPS option, or enclosure between quotes or asterisks.UPDATE: Disregard above comment. My rating still stands at a four, however, as this is a good feature to hang onto.

I like this.

It might add some spark to other reviewers, just not me.

This really is necessary. If you cite a book, for instance, you should underline rather than use quotations. This would be very helpful.

It's a simple tweak technically, but I think it would be a distraction - I sort of nice the big, uniform, clean font that we have currently - it makes for easy reading. Just give me the ability to link out, and I'm a happy camper.

No. The "ALL CAPS-PAY ATTENTION TO MY COMMENTS!" people already have enough to work with.

Might be nice, but not a huge deal. I could see people writing in all italics, trying to be "cute" somehow. Irk. I'd rather deal without it.

Let it go. . .the last time mass changes were made the place got a little worse. . .

Sure, I would like to see bold and italics in reviews as they could help emphasize certain points. However, I am giving this a low rating based on past performance in regard to the "powers that be" on RIA. Many months ago all of the quotations used in reviews were lost. When I brought this to the attention of RIA I was told that in good time they would be restored. The entire RIA format changed, new additions and changes were put into place, but were the quotations restored as promised? No. As a result I have a number of reviews which are confusing to read because of the missing quotations. Can I rewrite those old reviews and add the missing quotations? HELL NO! If I resubmit a comment, I lose all of the helpfuls and unhelpfuls associated with those reviews. It seems that RIA management has their own set of priorities and even though I was told that the problems I mentioned would be addressed they were not addressed, in spite of MAJOR changes that have taken place. Based on management's past broken promises, I would vote no on adding bold and italicized letters because if a glitch should ever occur and the bold and italicized letters become lost, either they will not be restored, or you will have to restore them yourself............. at the cost of any helpful and unhelpful votes connected with those reviews.

That would just give weirdos a new way to annoy me...

Similar to the suggestion to add links to reviews, adding the ability to use bold and italics in reviews has the potential to improve the appearance and quality of comments. I personally would like to use italics for song, album, film, etc. names for clarity and use bold type (with discretion) for emphasis on occasion. Of course some would bold everything (as they do with ALL CAPS), but I ignore those comments anyway. Nevertheless, this enhancement shouldn't be a top priority and has been suggested before.
