I can see the potential usefulness of such a feature to certain users. Often enough a list meant to gauge opinion on a certain topic is rendered meaningless by 1.. frivolous responses and 2.. ratings that are not based of the criteria suggested by the list-maker. This feature would make it possible to avoid that. Not saying I'd use it myself.. but I can see where it might be helpful to some.

This one wouldn't affect most of us, but I can see why a Book Group, for example, would want to keep reviews on a specific list private among their little group.

Since there is no description currently for this suggestion, I'm at a loss as to why anyone would want to make a list private. I suppose if it was porn related, used to lock out trollers, or perhaps to stop activity while working on the list, but the point of these things is to get as much input as possible (at least in my opinion) and porn lists would degrade the site. The bottom line is that while I suppose a few might find private weblists useful, it should be a low priority if added at all.

Wasn't this an option at some point before? I'm sure some people might find it useful, but I don't have any use for this feature.
