a 3.5. cute for a kid movie and could be scary for younger children. a mean old man does not want children on his property. anytime something of theirs lands in his yard it disappears. and so do kids and adults sometimes. the old man tries and chases kids away. so everyone thinks the old man is evil. he ends up in the hospital and may even be dead. the neighbor kids decide to go in the house and retrieve all their taken toys. they discover the true reason why this old man was chasing them away. lets just say that he was not the villan. to not release spoilers. good enough movie for kids. and not so bad for adults to sit through. not scary for older kids and adults. sort of along the haunted house themes we see a lot.

I HATE THIS MOVIE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! THE DIRECTOR MADE A HUGE MISTAKE WHEN THEY MADE THIS MOVIE AN ANIMATED MOVIE!!! My brother started CRYING because he's FOUR FRIGGIN' YEARS OLD, but it was an ANIMATED MOVIE!!!!!! Here's a note: next time you make a scary movie, make it a little more than pg and put in HUGE LETTERS THAT THIS IS NOT RECCOMMENDED FOR LITTLE KIDS!!! Thankyou for your time. =P

I expected a bit more from something out of Spielberg and Zemeckis. I just didn't get that much out of this film. The story is some far-fetched tale of a trio of kids who become suspicious of the "house across the street," where things, then people start disappearing when something treads on the lawn of Old man Nebbekracker. I guess the movie takes the theme that every neighborhood (including mine) has the house where you could color your ball gone if it went into their yard. I remember losing a very nice football that went into the yard of this MFer. Monster House runs on the premise that the house has to be fed balls, trikes, and even little boys, because the house is alive. If you are thinking of taking kids 6 years old or younger, all I can say is that's a poor choice. There are some disturbing scenes for the very young. You'll just have to bite the bullet and take the wee ones to see Cars (try to stay awake). One plus for this movie is the animation. It's that capture type animation used in Polar Express. The eyes look more realistic this time around. The movie
