I'm not a Sci-Fi or a SyFy fan at all. I don't care for the science fiction genre in books, movies, or tv shows, so for a long time I refused to watch any of this channel's programming (except for Twilight Zone, of course!). After a long boring day of online surfing, I was dying to log off and watch some tv. To my dismay, nothing good was currently on the air and my OnDemand was tapped out due to my watching it all the time. Out of desperation and exasperation, I stumbled to the SyFy section of On Demand and found a little show called "Eureka". Having seen a couple of previews of it in the recent past, it seemed just entertaining enough to fill my time but I was doubtful that I would ever watch another episode.Well, I'm ashamed to admit, several episodes later and I am HOOKED. It has now become one of my favorite On Demand shows that I eagerly await with heightened anticipation every week. Because I haven't figured out which day of the week the new episode hits the On Demand channel, I check it daily. The show itself is colorful, whimsical in a science-geek type of way, and very interesting. I'm convinced this town is run by Microsoft software as often as things "break down" while hilarity ensues.

I like this show, it's grounded firmly in science fiction but often skirts the boundaries of science fact in that it tries to use ideas for technology which people are working on or have worked on with little or no success or even just advancing existing technologies.Another good point about this series is that they're not afraid to shake things up with the deaths of characters. They created a strong dynamic between Sheriff Jack Carter and Nathan Stark where there arguments helped keep the show alive but then they killed off Nathan and started to take the show in a slightly different direction.*** SPOILER ALERT***As season 3.5 starts we learn that they're changing the direction of the show even further with the introduction of an extraterrestrial signal.

Another solid outing from Sci-Fi Channel. The show has a good collection of characters, and plenty of growth potential.
