I guess the thing that is always going to tweak people in regards to me is the assumption that they understand me. Shit, I don't understand me...

excellent dude

I know you really upset Git but I think he deserves to be higher than you. (He just seems more personable)... Perhaps you were just trying to correct the injustice? It really got to him that he didn't think he deserved the sudden boost in rating. But I think he did. I went to rate his all reviews honestly for being kind to me but quit after a page or two. Not that he is a bore but because I am lazy lol, thank you for taking over. I know I'd find at least few hundred of his reviews helpful and it saves me from doing the work xD
Wiseguy 01/11/2009
1-12-09: This will be my last update concerning this issue, then I'll be a grown up again. BTW, your friend Fit started the last go around, so be sure to thank him for that. There is one thing I find very consistent with Num. It started as: Its not my fault I conspired to cheat my way to the top of the HOF. I'm not having a meltdown, everybody else is. I'm the victim of "black-balling" The constant attempts to shift responsibility away from him. Does Num think correcting one wrong with another was the right thing to do? Dumping a few hundred helpfuls on Git just to relieve pressure on him? Now Git's totals are tainted, then Fit re-tainted Num's totals (again) Another mess for L to clean up, and who's at the center of it? (again) All because "other people" got bend out of shape. Since the last Helpful fiasco, I'm a little surprised that the Admin didn't take stronger measures to insure this type thing wouldn't get out of control (again).1-1-09: Num and his cronies conspired to stuff his profile with thousands of helpful votes that vaulted him to #1 reviewer status on the HOF list, that is pretty pathetic. The reason this issue is alive again is because one of his friends recently noticed that Git was closing back in on the #1. spot. Hatter blindly dumped over 200 votes on Num ***(in one day)*** to widen the gap back up, while Num just sat there and smiled. Pretty punkish IMO. Then turn around and play a victim of blackballing. *Newsflash* He black-balled himself by posting thousands of one line reviews about Star Wars, and many other posts that severely lack in quality. A crusade you say? Nah...I just don't like cheaters.
georges11 01/10/2009
numbah was the first person to welcome me to RIA. For that he has earned some loyalty from me, also his reviews say a lot with few words. The quality of a review should not be quantified by the number of nor complexity of words used. If I were not biased I would still say I enjoy coming accross numbahs reviews. I will not delve into the politics of what is going on here because I am relatively new, but I never thought the gist of RIA was that of a popularity contest. And I must add, as a quantifier, that I probably enjoy reading everyone's reviews. I do not agree with all of them, sometimes very strongly disagree, but I like this site. One thing for sure it all seems democratic. Not that that's a bad thing. Hang in there numbah. Let's see what the Birds do this weekend.
fitman 01/10/2009
Numbah gets even more hate mail than I do. I must be doing something wrong!
UPDATE:
I've just finished awarding numbah about 300 'helpfuls', not because I agree with everything he posts, but because I'd do the same for any target of a childish vendetta. I wonder if the guy who says he doesn't care about 'helpfuls' will protest my 'cheating'?
NOTE: At the time of the UPDATE, this review had the following rating: (2 voted this helpful, 9 funny and 0 agree)
2nd UPDATE:
Well it looks like I stepped in it again. I had no idea this foolishness would be taken so seriously, never before believed in the 'chase away' theory, and didn't think making 'funny' of myself would be seen as some sort of RIA crime by the humour deficient. Oh well...
irishgit 01/10/2009
Nowhere near as dumb as he likes to pretend he is, numbah can show pretty formidable insight when he's not reinforcing his role as RIA's comic relief. I confess to getting worn out by the Star War's schtick, but to each their own, and at least he hasn't threatened to come over and hit me with a lightsaber yet.
UPDATE: I've thought about this update for the last week. I've thought about writing it and letting it go. But I've decided to write it. I'm disappointed in numbah for his actions around the HOF list in the last little while. He has lost much of my respect, and I'm very sad about that. I thought much better of him, and I am sorry to be so disappointed.
UPDATE TWO:
So now fitman has taken it upon himself to further muddy the already brackish waters. We now have a chain of events that has numbah dumping several hundred helpfuls on me to put me on top of the HOF list for reasons of his own that I do not understand, and seem overly dramatic, now we have fitman seeking to redress some vendetta of his own imagining. Fuck it. Its time for admin to step in, in my opinion.
I am formally requesting that all votes given to me by numbah or fitman are removed from my totals.
I would appreciate the courtesy of a public response from Admin on this issue.
StarkTruth 01/03/2009
bad form... Tell me it wasn't you who padded Git's helpfuls to push him up and over yours on the HOF. This is not choosing the honorable path. What would Yoda think? What would admin think? eh hem... does admin even notice?
SilverFox 11/01/2008
Usually displays a good sense of humor and occasionally can be witty. On the other hand, he favors a vast quantity of extremely short reviews over any real quality. Not much in the way of intelligent and reasoned analysis. May be more intelligent than he appears, but has yet to prove it to me. Pretty conservative political views, including a dislike of liberals and lack of an open mind about other viewpoints. In political matters, predictable and kind of disappointing. However, he gets points from me for being civil in those discussions.
zuchinibut 10/23/2008
Numbah has evolved a lot while on rateitall. I initially liked his reviews and his humor, but quickly got annoyed by his infatuation with himself. The over abundnace of weblists about himself and the way too frequent third person references to himself have gradually decreased over time. He is much more interesting to read when he isn't trying to do schtick. He is a funny guy, and while he definitely tries hard to be funny, I no longer get the sense that he is "trying to hard."
MissPackRat4Je sus 05/26/2008
What's not to like about our friend Numbah? He really brightens RIA with his wit.
FranksWildYear s 04/14/2008
Under-estimate his intellegence, many have tried, but few have failed.
CanadaSucks 04/14/2008
Underrated intelligence. Don't let the robe fool you.
lmorovan 03/31/2008
Not going to say anything lest I be labeled as judgmental. My rating says it all.
waldoswang 03/31/2008
just to return the favour :) out of character? im not the one tht pretends to be summit am not =)
ILikePie 03/11/2008
The face of Star Wars, and the left ventricle of RateItAll. And let's be honest, although he may not run the place, he's just as important as Magellan in the lifeblood of RateItAll... :)
louiethe20th 07/31/2007
Can't believe I have not commented on this sick, twisted, demented fellow til' now(Joking of course).
I should give you a 5 just for being a Cardinals fan man, I feel your pain man, I feel your pain!!!
XAgent 07/24/2007
One of the funniest guys I know. Not to mention quit inventive when it comes to lightsaber technique.
Vudija 03/22/2007
Whether you like him or not, he's become a big part of the site. His sense of humor makes for great entertainment, and I've noticed he's fairly helpful in welcoming new members to the site. Plus, I get thr occasional drunk call from him; THAT'S quite entertaining too :)
callitdownthel ine75 03/22/2007
I enjoy numbah_16_td_haha's comments on EVERYTHING! He is knowledgeable with just about any subject, and shows a sense of humor like few others on RateItAll. And on top off that, he has the finest taste in women (such as Jessica Alba) and knows great movies when he sees them (like 'Star Wars'). Major props to the great Jedi warrior, numbah_16_td_haha!
Victor83 03/20/2007
I have to say this quickly (while IJR isn't looking)...numbah is hands-down one of the best here- always entertaining, always a good sport (except when it comes to Eddie Van halen).
doobiesNhof 03/20/2007
Anyone who likes Star Wars is my eternal friend!!
GenghisTheHun 03/18/2007
He is a good, knowing reviewer for his age.
Humorbot 03/16/2007
I shall return the favor. Star Wars rules.
LastMessenger3 03/03/2007
Who doesn't like Numbah? He is practically the only person who literally lives on this site. The guy is lots of fun!
LadyJesusFan77 7 06/30/2006
Always has interesting posts, and I want to thank him for welcoming me to this site. It meant a lot to me. Thanks, numbah, and the others who have reached out to me: chihuahua2, Donovan, EschewObfuscation, Gentle Jude, MissPackRat, trebon1038, aWiseguy, and Vudija.
hotel283 06/08/2006
Here's a guy who sacrificed a big chunk of his life to serve in the Marines and as a Marine probably stared death in the face once or twice yet still has his sense of humor as his salient quality. After his service, he could shame every non-serving flag waver on this site yet he doesn't, which is a testament to his character.
ma duron 03/03/2006
Needless to say, 'gore...', 'tornado' and others are entitled to the opinions they submit. Further, 'numbah', like anyone else here, does not need anybody's endorsement, which is why this writer prefers to stay away from characterizing any one else's record - except regarding those listings that regard Users' virtues. What can be determined is that 43 of 46 raters who provided written testimony about 'numbah' rate him four or five stars and explain their reasoning. It was the other 30 or so who chose to remain anonymous who recorded 3 or fewer stars.
JohnSpina 03/02/2006
We all love numbah 16 td haha. Now if only Jessica Alba is reading this.
HistoryFan 03/01/2006
C'mon Tornado! It's all in fun. Lighten up! Numbah is a naturally gifted comedian...who hasn't been discovered yet.
trebon1038 02/28/2006
to quote Numbah! "I googled Jake Plummer, my embattled quaterback and saw Rate Jake Plummer on Rateitall and felt compelled to comment." I found RIA by googling Jeff Fisher...so I ended up on here by way of sports. Numbah was on most of the weblists and he and Hatter were the first names I saw on a regular basis. Because Hatter is a fellow Sooner fan and I commented on that, Numbah sent me my first message from another RIA user: to tease me! Loved it! He may be the blacksheep of this website but he is also the welcome wagon! I have since had contact with several other RIA users on various topics but Numbah broke me in right!
alpepper 01/24/2006
I get a kick out of him. But after his namesake's performance last Sunday against the Steelers, maybe we have to change his name to numbah_16_int_oyvey.
edt4 01/13/2006
While I suspect that Numbah and I are on opposite sides of the political spectrum, he's never heavy-handed or pedantic in expressing his opinions, and has a most-welcome sense of humor. Too, his opinions aren't limited only to politics. He's up on his sports and music, and his posts are always an enjoyable, often informative, read.
Djahuti 12/22/2005
Although he often has very different views than I,I always enjoy reading his posts. He has a great sense of humor and is quite likable.
oscargamblesfr o 12/20/2005
I like reading this guy's stuff, he knows his football and other sports, doesn't take himself too seriously, lets you know where he stands on things, allows you to have a different opinion without getting uptight, furious, or preachy, and he is refreshingly witty. He and I generally have different outlooks on political matters, but he's always a pleasure to read, and some of his remarks on movies and other cultural/ entertainment topics and items are interesting, funny, and incisive.
Tornado8 11/17/2005
Panders to the audience on what they wanna here, instead of saying his opinion. Mentions he's a marine, like anyone cares and like it has anything to do with any of the reviews. It's just pathetic really and it's getting a 1 from me.
Mad Hatter 08/29/2005
You think his comments are funny on RIA, his off the freakin' wall in person. I have known him for 7 years now, and he always comes up with something new. UPDATE: You want to see him really arrogant and hothead, put an XBox controller in his hands. In all honesty, Numbah is someone that I am glad to call my friend. UPDATE: See what I mean. UPDATE: To say that Numbah is Jar-Jar and/or Mikeholly is ridiculous. The only person more liberal Jar-Jar is John Kerry and last time I checked, Numbah doesn't live in Ohio and doesn't work for Wal-Mart.
texasyankee 08/29/2005
No no no, earthbound you have it wrong. The theory is Numbah is also Mikeholly! ;) actually I was being serious... I think mikeholly is fictional, as is where he lives and works...
earthbound 08/29/2005
This is a reviewer that has grown on me a lot. He has a very off-the-cuff way of writing reviews, which reminds me very much of the reviewer Jar-Jar Binks. In fact, perhaps they are the same person. There's a theory! Anyhow, the reviews themselves are amusing, frequently frivolous, but often hit the topic on the head using a fraction of the diskspace hogged by people like me. In fact, he may have missed his calling tinkering around with satellite systems, this guy would be good at writing bumper stickers, even for orgs like PETA ('Monkeys and Mascara don't mix' - http://www.rateitall.com/i-858807-animal-testing-for-cosmetics.aspx).
Jar-Jar Binks 08/11/2005
UPDATE: I hope he got over the loss when his Phoenix Suns were eliminated by the Spurs. His team had the best record in the league and they blew their chance. Maybe next year. Anyway, he was an OK reviewer to me. OLD NEWS: A fun reviewer who I enjoy reading. He may be a true conservative, but I find myself laughing at his comments plenty of times.
souljunkie 07/18/2005
I like this dude. Probably becasue he is much like myself. It feels really good to say exactly whats on your mind and he is another who does so, probably more than myself. I dont always see things the same way but his opinions are pure to himself and entertaining.
Donovan 07/06/2005
UPDATE: One of my favorites on RIA, he is a 5 star reviewer who has the talent to mix humor, current events and good taste while he remains humble at heart... numbah does a great job. I do not see a lot of animosity between him and others. Yes, he uses humor in his comments and I think it's great; if you can add a little laughter to everyday life, then you have done well. ORIGINAL MESSAGE: Seems like a pretty nice guy. He served our country in the military and for that he deserves 10 stars.
rock-a-holic 05/25/2005
Such a funny kid. And i already established that you're my soul mate on hatters list of reviewers you would like to meet in person...but i was kidding, incase you were worried. Like if you read this one before you read that one...I dont have a soul mate. Not yet anyway...
Randyman 04/19/2005
A young man full of bravado, arrogance and Machismo. I like his jarhead mentality! It comes through in his reviews. He actually reminds me of my son. Gives pretty good reviews on a wide range of subjects. The kinda guy that would have your back in a fight. Good job!
helmut 03/21/2005
UPDATE: Beav, I gotta dissagree with you here. I just can't be too hard on numbah because of what he lacks in substance. As for your remarks about every post, I think I'm at least catching up with you. I spend ten times as much time reading as I do posting. I value numbah just as much as you or Flick01 or anybody else who posts a lot of serious content. I consider numbah just as one of my goofy frineds. (even though he continues deny my request that he stop refering to himself in the third person)
Mooselover 02/20/2005
I agree with him more than any other author on this site!
Specialboothvi cJr. 01/27/2005
one of the better reviewers
Seraph 01/20/2005
One of the coolest, funniest guys on RIA. Keep it up, numbah!
MariusQelDroma 12/18/2004
Keep the funny sh*t coming, brother. :) UPDATE: While you and I might not agree on some issues, I hope we can keep disagreeing agreeably. :)
