If you think this is annoying, I advise you to avoid taverns where they serve cheap beer, pickled eggs, and garlic sausage.   Annoying isn't the word for that experience.  Most are like being stuck in a dead cat factory. 

It's just natural. Sometimes if it slips out, there's nothing a person can do....

...especially if there's no dog to blame it on! (LOL)

But seriously, I think this all depends on the way one acts when they cut the cheese. It's not so much the actual passing of the gas that's annoying, but if the person is being obnoxious about it.

Maybe we can identify with this situation: how many have walked into a grocery store aisle where someone had passed gas and then fled the scene of the crime... for some poor unsuspecting soul to wander into? That could very well be annoying!

Just another function of the human body. And don't anyone dare tell me that theirs never stinks because that absolutely won't wash.

Let's clear the air on this one: farting (especially in public) is VERY annoying!
