 | twansalem (36) 05/03/2008 | Yes, they can definitely be cringe-worthy. That's why we're going with the standard vows when we get married this summer.

 | Molfan (57) 05/03/2008 | maybe a bit cringy. but would sit be polite, and think no way I would write my own vows. some who write their own vows may sound nice. others cringy. but to each their own.

 | DrEntropy (38) 05/03/2008 | These can be horribly cringy...inevitable at New-Age weddings (also: the food sucks and there's no booze; take a rain-check).

 | AndrewScott (71) 07/25/2006 | As long as the vows they've written sound from the heart, I'd cut the bride and groom some slack.
To be truly cringe-worthy, a spouse-to-be would almost have to throw in an insensitive remark to their mate. Like one saying "You are my trophy" with the other one replying "Can't wait until I get half".

 | CanadaSucks (45) 07/25/2006 | I've heard of some howlers from friends. . .but I've only experienced one wedding where the clumsy metaphors for love made my eyebrow raise. . .not a cringe-worthy wedding moment. . .
