 | Randyman (109) 01/21/2007 | One of the very best of modern referees, also the most controversial, due to his stoppage of Meldrick Taylor,in the first Taylor vs J.C. Chavez fight, with five seconds left in the fight. I won't argue the merit of that decision here. That stoppage haunted him for the remainder of his career. His resume reads like a who's who in boxing. Along with Taylor vs Chavez I, He was the third man in Sugar Ray Leonard vs Tommy Hearns I, Leonard vs Marvin Hagler, Mike Tyson vs Frank Bruno I and Aaron Pryor vs Alexis Arguello I. He has since been inducted in to the World Boxing Hall of Fame in Los Angeles.
