Wow, I forgot about this song, just downloaded it... thanks LimeWire! You didn't actually think I'd pay for this song did you?

People forget this was a mild hit in the 80's. This was a good song.

Flush was an interesting change for rock icon Alice Cooper. While I was glad to see him go back to hard rock a few years later (I think he is one of the greatest hard rockers and most underrated lyricist ever) this song was really good. He ought to bring this back into his live show since cloning now seems to be coming more and more common. A good song that did crack the Top 40. Sort of a forgotten Cooper classic.

The early 80's Alice albums like Flush the Fashion, Special Forces, Zipper Catches Skin, and Dada mark a different Alice sound but some of the lyrics and songs are masterpieces (though I prefer his great hard rock sound) Clones was more of a New Wave song but ahead of its time. Cloning is being done today. As usual Cooper, was ahead of the game.

"Clones (We're All)" was Alice Cooper's foray into new wave, and for the most part he succeeded for a brief moment. The dark futuristic sound and lyrics both fit yet contrasted with some of the brighter hopes that many had at the time, namely that technology would soon solve much of the world's problems. One wonders whether this song will be covered more in the near future given the contemporary cloning debate, but so far only the Smashing Pumpkins have recorded a notable version. "Clones" barely charted in the U.S. for 1 week in 1980 (#40).
