It's nothing special, but it's gotten me where I needed to go when I needed to be there the few times I've used it.

An enormously large system which works with average efficiency. It is better than most cities in terms of availability and distances you can travel throughout the system. Customer service needs to be improved, as well as information services, such as travel information. The cost is somewhat justified. If politics were removed from the system, things would run more smoothly.

What I liked about the L is that it runs late; you can easily hang out at the after-hour bars until 5am and find your way home via public transportation (and I honestly don't understand why other cities do not have better public transportation for people leaving the bars - what better way to keep drunk drivers off the streets?) My favorite part of this ride is when you take it by Wrigley Field on a game day.

I like how most of the system is elevated. It's nice to be able to look out the window. The renovated underground stations (such as State/Lake, State/Jackson, State/Chicago) look great. The 'L' is definetly the loudest rapid transit system I've ever been on. I don't understand why they make their platforms, even the renovated ones, out of wood. I was stuck on the Green Line for an hour about 2 weeks ago (between Ashland and Clark). Despite any little things that annoy me, I like the CTA in general.

Living in an area that has little public transportation, I just think it would be great to take a subway or train to work. When I was in Chicago it was almost like a tourist attraction watching the El go through the loop.

The CTA is an outstanding system, that covers the city very well. It is America's finest. The prices are low, the reliabiltiy high. Congratulations to the "City that works!"

The L certainly has charm, is affordable, fast, and extends across most of the city (including to both airports, a terrific thing) - but it does have some problems, particularly that there are parts of the city that are completely bypassed by the L train. There are CTA buses that fill in those gaps, but those buses are uneven in their timing, and there are far more buses on the ritzy side of town than the more gritty sides. Still, overall, it's a very good and well put together public transportation system.

Comparing this to other ones I've been on, this is efficencent and cheap. Though most of the stations need to be remodernized- the platforms and the elevated structures are made of wood and the seats on the trains don't have cushions.

I've always liked it. Efficient, reasonably clean, but doesn't lose that big city edge I love.
