A must have for any homeowner. But unless you are a weekend warrior I would advise staying away from cordless. Batteries that sit unused for long periods of time degrade quickly and they are not cheap! And if you have any possibility of drilling thru stone, concrete, heavy tile, etc then go for a hammer drill. It makes such a difference!

This is the most useful power tool all around,in my opinion.There are plenty of hand tools I'm content to make do with rather than their electric or battery counterparts,but the hand drill is not one of them!

If you have one power tool this should be the one. I'd suggest upgrading to a cordless version as soon as possible, however.
