Plantar Fasciitis 4

Plantar fasciitis is a painful condition of the bottom of the foot. Sharp pain is felt on the bottom or underside of the foot and often on the inside of the heel. It is common for patients to report that the heel pain is most intense first thing in the morning, often with the first footsteps the patient takes of the day. Patients should seek effective plantar fasciitis treatment as soon as possible.

Plantar Fasciitis 4

In a sport where things like quickness, balance, and footwork are as important as they are in basketball, any kind of foot condition, let alone one which involves a sharp bone protruding from the bottom of your heel, is going to affect your game.

Plantar Fasciitis 4

I'm going through this now, and it's not pleasant. It's a shooting pain on the bottom of your foot, it almost feels like a sprained arch. This has bugging me for a couple of weeks now. I've had to cut back to two days of hoops a week, and the morning after I feel like a cripple. Here's how I'm treating it: - I bought insoles / arch supports for all my shoes - I'm trying to ice when I'm just sitting around - I streatch it out (same as a calf stretch), in the morning - I'm taking ibuprofen for the swelling. If this doesn't work, I'll need to get a shot, which is not ideal, as it makes the tendon more brittle which can lead to a tear. And of course, everything is connected. Because I've changed my gait to protect the foot, my knee is starting to ache a little bit. I'm also not able to run as hard, which means i'm not burning as many calories. The weight is creeping on a little bit. The more weight, the more strain on the foot. It's a house of cards, folks, a house of cards. (don't get me wrong, I'm still averaging about 20 ppg in my city league however).

Plantar Fasciitis 4

This is extremely annoying, it takes forever to heal. It took me about 5 months before I felt like I could really run, jump and cut normally, and almost 8 months later, I still feel a little bit of stiffness and/or pain if I play for more than a couple of hours.
