You know, I was planning to go to Comiskey and contribute a few disco vinyls. Unfortunately, I was unable to make it. I think though, as I remember, the White Sox had to forfeit the game! The great Harry Caray was broadcasting for the Sox in those days. Mike Veeck, son of Bill, was the "brains" behind this promotion. Mike was banned from baseball for years thereafter, but I understand he is back in there with ownership of some minor league baseball franchises.

Probably the dumbest event ever conducted by a bunch of rednecks & rockers who were suddenly no longer cool.

I was too young to remember this but every time I see the video it makes me laugh. The damn stadium looked like a war zone - Charlie Finley was surely smiling somewhere.

I was probably about 8 or something when this occurred, and can remember it albeit dimly. One of those weird nostalgic baseball in the 70's events along with those quintessential 1974 to a T dudes that followed Aaron around the bases when he hit #715 and the awesome 10 cent beer night fiasco that happened in Cleveland in a game between the Indians and Rangers in 1974, in which drunken fans went on a rampage and caused the game to be forfeited. Basically, a ton of disco records were blown up at the old Comiskey Park.
