morons.org is a site that has great potential but is cut short by it's one dimensional ultra-liberal slant. The preface invites people of all leanings to join in, but in my opinion, morons.org is quite hostile to those who dissent from the shared philosophy there. I felt the posting policies were applied to me (and others) unfairly because of differing ideologies. It appears to me that at times, the site mirrors those it ridicules when it comes to intolerance, zealousness, and a black and white point of view. Much improvement could be made with a more open forum and an allowed exchange of different ideas. My opinion is that morons.org was created to preach to the choir rather than to encourage any serious debate or allow it to happen in the forums.

On the plus side, the owner is very intelligent and (although I seldom agree with him) writes very thought provoking editorials. The site is technically very user friendly and has plenty of interesting side bars and features. I would encourage anyone to go check it out, but, if you are a member of the right, religious or a Christian, wear a helmet and be prepared for your postings to bear much more scrutiny and meet a higher criteria than the "me too" posters there.

Morons.org, despite the name, is probably one of the intelligent places online. They have news about the abue of govermnent power, religion, and just plain idiocy that the traditional media won't even think of getting near. As for its detractors: if morons.org angers enemies of freedom of speech, thought, and expression, then they -must- be doing something right!

As long as you're there to engage in thoughtful debate and to back up your arguments with facts and reason then this site is for you. Prepare to be mocked mercilessly however if you begin slinging invectives or condemning people to damnation. There is disagreement on some subjects, but for the most part the community there values intelligent discourse and of course freedom.

I've been a poster on morons.org for quite some time. While the site tends toward libertarian and liberal discussion, it is always a great place for intelligent discourse (with occasional sprinklings from easily-offended fundamentalists Christians and far-right wing Republicans ranting about how their opinions are the only right opinions and that everyone else is a Nazi atheist homosexual who hates America, god and puppies). First amendment issues, gay rights and the idiocy and hypocrisy of public figures (both political and non-political) are the most common topics. splorp! Evil Bastard

Morons.org is the place to go if you want to bash Christianity. The claims of tolerence seem bogus to me because nowhere on the site did I find any criticisms or critical evaluation of anything except Christianity and / or things or people connected with the right. I read the preface and I know what it says, but what it says and what the site puts into practice are two different things. Just level with us.... it's a Christian / conservative / right wing bashing site..... say it and be proud of it. Just the name morons.org should clue people in that there is an agenda and if one does not fall into lock step with their enlightened views, then you fall into the catagory of a moron. Of course they have every right to do, print, and promote whatever they like but all I know is that if I made a site that did the equivalent to the left's sacred cows I would get buried under the cries of you're a Nazi and I would be accused of promoting hate speech. Just look at the reviews of Ann Coulter and then tell me how tolerent the left really is of dissenting views and opinions. UPDATE: In all fairness, when I read another reviewers remarks I went back to morons.org and did a search on PETA articles and did find some opposing views. So I will amend my post to state that the site is not 100% bashing of fundamentalists or right wing conservative Christians. However, the majority of people's criticisms are aimed in that direction but honesty compels me to state that there are other criticisms within the site, although the bashing of Christianity leads the pack.

An important site that exposes true morons in today's society. True, most of the postings tend to be from like-minded people (though they aren't closed-minded like Flick and GoneAway want you to believe). The main posters will expose most true examples of idiocy, no matter who from (they've critized everyone from PETA to Gary Bauer.)

It is a wonderful community, if you are tolerant of the views of others, and willing to have your own ideas and beliefs challenged.

An excellent site with an intelligent community of members/readers. Despite what appears to be a distinctly atheistic, liberal slant, it is only because stories that involve violations of the first amendment and personal freedoms tend to be anti-conservativism and pro-secularism. An excellent resource for those looking to engage in intelligent discourse with others about current events.

I'm not sure what site Flick01 went to, but it certainly wasn't morons.org. I for one am a devout Christian who posts there regularly. His/her comment is just plain wrong. Go to the site and see for yourself.
