Johnson proved that he was a good coach at 1-AA Georgia Southern, but he is proving that he is great at Navy. Recruiting at a service academy is a hard thing to do, but Johnson has done a good job of bringing in players that fit with his system and with the mission of the Naval Academy. Navy had a great bowl win this season, and is likely to continue their success in the future. If there is any doubt to how good Paul Johnson is doing as a coach, take a look at what Army has been through lately.

Great rebuilding for a team that has tough time recruiting.

Johnson has excelled with a team of SCHOLAR-athletes (mostly engineers) with 20-hr course loads and unbelievable military requirements. He can't recruit extremely talented thugs with 5th grade reading skills into a basket weaving curriculum.

He took Navy and won 9-2 games this year. He is a great Coach.

Paul has done a fabulous job. The Naval Academy players are not being grommed for the NFL but to defend our nation. To go 9-2 with the demands placed upon them compared to other colleges is fantastic.

Any coach that can coach Navy to a bowl is pretty good.
