Purdue hadn't been to a bowl game since the early 1980's until Joe Tiller took over the program in 1998 and led the Boilers to their first Rosebowl since the 60's in 2000. Last year, Purdue faced problems with a few players causing trouble...this year, Purdue looks to reinstate itself as a competitive bowl team.

Anyone that gave Coach Tiller 1 star should take a closer look. As soon as Tiller took over, Purdue went from bottom feeders to consistently contending at the top of the Big 10. How many coaches take over a non-bowl team and make them 8-3 in their first year as coach? One Big 10 championship in 2000 and a 2nd place finish and Capital One Bowl two years ago makes him a pretty good coach in my book. To make my final point, Purdue is one of only about 8 teams in the nation to go to a bowl game for the last 8 years in a row.

Purdue sucks, always will.

Over-rated. Give him credit for recruiting and developing good quarterbacks but ability thins after that.

Good coach. Has made Purdue a consistently good football school. Proved that a passing offense can thrive in the Big Ten. Can be proud of Drew Brees and Kyle Orton.

A very good coach. Made a dumb mistake last week, but I won't penalize him for it.

He has transformed Purdue from a run balanced offense to a pass happy offense in his years at the helm of the Boilermakers program. Purdue has become a consistent contender for the conference championship under this guy, and I think he'll continue to do well as head coach.
