I'm been near-sighted pretty much all my life. The good news I always heard was that as we near-sighted people age, our mis-shaped eyeballs shrink, and our vision supposedly improves somewhat as a result. This shrinking process, common to all, is why people with perfect vision all their lives suddenly need reading glasses once they pass the age of 40.

I'd rate it higher except for 2 things. 1) At 20, my eyes couldn't get much worse than they are already and 2) I'm obviously not over 50 yet. I'd hate to think that my eyes would actually be getting worse than they are now, as I've been legally blind since I was like 9-10. It seems my eyes have finally bottomed out, but when I was younger, they swore I'd be completely blind by my 30th birthday if they didn't stop by my 20th.

A sore subject, that.

This is good to know. It is depressing to move from regular glasses, to bifocals, to trifocals. What is next, I was wondering?
