Going strictly from my own experience, if you're coming in from Pa., Route 78 in N.J. isn't bad, but it can get stressful on the turnpike, and the bridges and tollbooths are usually a nightmare, and it doesn't get too pleasant until you get into either southern Connecticut if youre heading north, or into the middle of N.J. if you're heading west...
