Definitely one of the best! I love cooking it and eating it. Italian cold cuts and cheeses, pastas, seafood, it's all good.

The consensus seems to be, what is not good about Italian food, it is all good! MadHatter, I like Fettuccine Alfredo too, and for my extra special triple bypass dish, I like to add crumbled blue cheese to the sauce, with sauteed chicken strips, a bit of crumbled bacon and lots of fresh parmesan cheese grated over the top. If you want to feel better about it, you can add some cooked broccoli florets to it. Mangi!

Love it, although I think the Olive Garden version would be better served in a trough. The best Italian I've had is in small family owned restaurants. Theres a place in my town called Nicks with antique waitresses who give you static if you don't clean your plate, (the servings are immense) and serves veal like it was prepared by an angel.

It all seems the same to me, like different size noodles with different names. I've just never been crazy about the food, it's a little boring.

We have a small, family owned and operated restaurant in our town called Lazarri Italian Oven. Worlds better than anything you'll taste at Olive Garden, which is WAY overratted by people who have never had good italian food.

Oh, the best. Coming from an Italian family, there isn't much I don't like. Of course, I think my mom makes everything the best but I also adore Olive Garden . . . I'm not entirely keen on all the seafood part of Italian food, but the pasta is sensational.

Fettucini Alfredo is one of my favorites. Must have garlic bread to go with it.

If it's Italian, it's gotta be good (excedpt for some stuff the old-timers used to make like tripe, animal hearts, lamb's brains, blood pudding (sanguinaccio), and some other stuff I'd rather forget. Traveling in Italy as much as I did exposed me to plenty of regional cooking, with consistently good foods - everything from cheeses to eels to rice dishes. A guy (or a gal, for that matter) could put on some serious pounds - I did towards the end of my first tour in Naples. Went from about 140 to 185. It was terrible - I looked like the Pillsbury Dougboy. Got back to 145 really quick when I PCS'd from Naples to Vietnam!

Even a good steak has a hard time keeping up with homemade manicotti. The ultimate food coma.

The best is the stuff my mom makes. Stay away if you are not to keen on the garlic. Aha!
