It sounds like a nice average (and healthy) number. It gives you enough search time to know the type of person you want to be stay with, as Blue mentioned, or at least I'd HOPE you knew what you were looking for at this point.

I see nothing wrong with this or any other number on the list. What counts is if YOU are happy and at peace with the amount of partners you've had. There is no "right" or "wrong" number.

I feel it's the best number. You do have to search for what you're looking for but not to do it too many times. After the 2nd or third person you SHOULD know what you want.

I've heard from various places (none of them particularly all that reliable) that the "average" number of sexual partners in a person's lifetime is 4-5. I know that most of my friends would fall into that category, but that's a bit high of a number for me. I think a lot of it has to do with whether or not a person makes a correlation between love and sex, and how much so. While "love" does not equal "sex" and vice versa, in my book you don't get the latter unless you get the former, and I can't imagine falling in love so many times.

I'm in this bracket even in my old age and I'm better off this way. I stayed away from the hooker thing in the Marines and that's made a difference.

This number probably means that you have only had sex with people who you are in relationships with, which I think is a smart way to act. You probably know the status of the people you sleep with, and are less likely to get yourself into a lousy situation.
