My Dad bought me ONE dictionary during my entire academic life.I still use it,and love it.(Websters New Collegiate)The point is,buy a good one,and show the kid how to take care of books.

I will still ocassionally run into words today that I don't know of. Students should always have a dictionary accessible in order to improve their vocabulary and overall cognitive ability.
