 | Flick01 (71) 01/15/2005 | This has been around for many years. Back in 1964 the gas stations gave away toy tiger tails which people used to have hanging out of their gas doors. Like the indestructable steak knives from Shell, they were very popular for a time.

Exon ,or Esso as it was once known used to say in its advertising campagns to put a tiger in your tank. Now considering that tigers are not that fast and compared to other large cats you have to wonder where they were coming from. That said it was a long time ago.

 | excelsior30 (8) 09/07/2004 | This tiger is more realistic and outandingly prominent in the gasoline world. It is a character that gives pride towards himself and the company it represents. He also shows that the gasoline is long-lasting by his muscular build. He is distinctive, but I cannot understand why Kellogg's has to wait 3 decades to go to court and say that Tony the Tiger should be the only tiger used in advertising. Do save your tiger, Exxon!
