That's retarded if you asked me. Not everyone wants soda or juice. It's nice to have something with a cap on it for a change and not spill it all over yourself.

At a recent party at the Eschew hacienda, my son (be careful not to call him Eschew, Jr.) who is an Army Reservist, brought out a little souvenir from his reservist drilling session and entertained the throng by sharing some of his new skills with us all. Apparently, there is a substance in the MRE packs which keeps food warm. but it doesn't mix well with water, like in a water bottle.

When you insert the chemical into the water and shake it, it's somewhat combustible. When he threw it in my backyard, it left a hole a few inches deep. I was entertained but not amused. It did help me to understand why water bottles are now banned from being carried on the plane.

This one is sort of hard to understand. On the one hand, you get super dehydrated on planes. Keeping folks from bringing water on seems sort of cruel.

But from a practical standpoint, couldn't someone carry liquid explosives on a plane inside their body? Couldn't you insert it into a body cavity?

Logically, it would seem to me that if you have a liquid explosive that is undetectable by the xray machines, you are going to be able to get it on the plane.

Banning water bottles seems to be doing something for the sake of doing it. Practically speaking, I can't believe we are even one iota safer because of this ban.
