This is how bad the NFC really is. Despite the fact that the Vikings have a losing record at this point in the season, they may still have a decent shot at the playoffs. The NFC is such a weak division that its last playoff spot may very well be occupied by a team that goes 8-8 this year. With Minnesota's easy record going forward, especially in comparison to other NFC teams with similar records, it is within the realm of possibility that they make it in. All the great teams are in the AFC. Baltimore, New England, Indianapolis, Denver, San Diego, Cincinnati, and Jacksonville are all in contention; with Miami barely in contention, due to their weak start this year. The NFC currently has many teams with losing records that are competing for that last playoff spot, including San Francisco and St. Louis. The big positive this team has is the ability to stop the run, which is something key to having going into the playoffs. All they got to do is start scoring, and maybe they might get in.

Week II: Two good wins. Can Johnson stay healthy? They look like a shoe-in for the Playoffs at least.

Brad Johnson isn't getting any younger, so I don't know how great they will be with him at the helm. The team seems like its going into a rebuilding mode, and I just don't think they'll be that good in 2006.
