As the last week of the 2006 season approaches, the Pats are in there but does the team have enough?

They're not getting as much attention as they used to, but this team is still playing very good football. They're somewhat more inconsistent and they've lost a lot of the high quality talent they had in the earlier part of the decade, but they keep winning games nonetheless, primarily based on solid defensive efforts. Laurence Maroney has really helped the running game and Brady keeps playing well. They already essentially have the AFC East locked up, so they're in the playoffs. The question is whether or not they can beat teams like Baltimore and San Diego, two strong upstarts that they will almost likely meet up with in the playoffs. If they beat them, I think Belichick and his crew will be in the Super Bowl again.

They'll probably win the division, but I don't care as I'm all burnt out on Patriots, and I don't need them to win every single year, unlike that fascist club in a different sport about 225 miles to the south! ...

They might have peaked a few years ago, but they are still a formidable team. I can't see anybody in the AFC East who is ready to take that division away from the Pats. As long as Bellicheck and Brady are together, I think New England has a good thing going on.
