I love David Sedaris. He is a great writer who is honest about his strange compulsions, past drug use, current cigarette addiction, homosexuality, fears, lifestyle, and family. I can always count on laughing out loud when I read Sedaris. I highly recommend any of his books.

Better yet, get your hands on an audio version in which he reads. His dry sense of humor is all the more revealing in his voice.

I think this book is hilarious. Sedaris brought both humor and short form to the memoir in a lasting way that has become the norm (see David Rakoff's Fraud or anything by Augusten Burroughs, both of which I recommend). His sarcastic style is strangely inclusive, and the craziness in his life makes the craziness in our own feel a little bit better.
