 | cyqing (0) 11/12/2007 | Brewers suck. They blew a 8.5 game lead in the Central haha and their manager is a complete idiot. They will go nowhere with Ned Yost at the helm.
I'll give 'em an additional star because they have good young talent on the team and they will be better next season.

 | brewersfan19 (0) 07/30/2006 | They are going to be a force to be dealt with in the very near future.. The Brewers have to use 25 different ptichers this year, lots of injuries and they are still somewhat in the wild card hunt.... Yost is doing a great job keeping them close..

 | oscargamblesfro (80) 12/12/2005 | The early 80's bashing club was a fun one to watch, with a lethal lineup (Yount, Cooper, Molitor, Simmons, Thomas, et al) and only decent enough, not great, pitching , which is what kept them from being a true powerhouse. Have had many bad years since 92, and play in one of the weaker markets, but appear to be headed in the right direction, though they've appeared that way before and failed. They have some good young players now who hopefully will help them regain respectability soon.

 | mtbmlb (6) 09/11/2005 | The team has become more precarious for opposing pitchers with Carlos Lee and Lyle Overbay coming on board. The rotation isn't bad either, with Sheets and Capuano leading the charge.

 | 37102002 (2) 08/10/2005 | A year or two away from contending. Tough having to play the Cardinals and Astros, two playoff teams, 19 times a year each. Plus the Cubs always give them trouble. However, decent pitching and average hitting. Bad defense needs to improve before they will really win anything.

 | traderboy (25) 06/28/2005 | The Brewers have become familiar (TOO familiar, for my liking): they start each year with a rag-tag line-up, play WAY over their heads (thus rousing hopes and dreams of contention), conk out by the All-Star break, and proceed to finish in or around the basement. Why, you ask? One, simple word: PITCHING! You can't hustle the same no-name bums out to the mound each season and expect anything worthwhile to happen. Ben Sheets is NOT the Second Coming (his inner ear troubles have him on the fast-track out); Capuano is spotty at best; Santos blows; Davis is only good with a seven-run lead; and Bottalico and Wise have no control. Turnbow has been a pleasant bonus at closer, but if he snags thirty saves, they'll never be able to afford him. As for offense.....why they don't have Overbay hitting lead-off is beyond me. Carlos (Fat Baby) Lee would have an additional eighteen RBIs with that scenario; Jenkins is wild again, swinging at the now-steady diet of sinkers and breakers clubs HAVE to throw him; Spivey's gone (there goes the clutch), so it's up to Bill Hall to save 'em late; Fielder's an overrated horse; Miller's the first catcher to hit over .230 for 'em in a decade, but he's being platooned; and the rest is still the rest. Yost won't last long (Cito Gaston might help), but he's cheap and no one else clamors for the job. Until they get serious with blank checks, they'll wind up as they currently are: farm talent for the large-market machines to feast upon.

 | Jar-Jar Binks (16) 04/13/2005 | Not a very good team behind the plate except for Lyle Overbay and Geoff Jenkins. Carlos Lee will help their offense but not enough talent to contend in the division. Expect manager Ned Yost to get the pink slip during or after this season.

 | Truth Seeker (0) 03/10/2005 | I gave it a 4-star and I really, really fell I need to qualify that.
I've been a Brewer's fan since I was 6 years-old. (Born in '73).My baseball hero's? Gantner, Cooper, Molitor, Young, Fingers, Ogilve, Yost, and my favorite whose name was ironed onto a store-bought jersey by my my mom when I was 9, Stormin' Gorman Thompson.
Anyway, that said. I popped the champaign along with many other MLB fans when the Brew Crew was sold buy the ****'* daughter that owned the team. C'Mon, did anyone really beleive Wendy was in charge? No, really. No, under penalty of having your butt kicked, did you really beleive she was in charge?
I'm giving my team 2 more years. With the greatest farm club in the history of baseball (OK, arguably), there has to be something to work with. If the new owner is serious, with the revenue of Miller Park, of fielding a competetive team, it souldn't take long. Especially considering the huge amount of cap room.
Gimme something to work with. I left Wisconsin over 11 years ago. I'll never bail on my Pack, but I need some hope, even a little, to remain a member of the True Blue Brew Crew.
I cheered for the Red Sox, but would rather cheer them on against the Yankees than switch loyalties.

 | bbutler76 (7) 02/08/2005 | I have been a Brewers fan since I was six years old. Unfortunately, they have not given me much to cheer about since the 80's. True, they have an awesome farm system but the Brewers are notorious for trading away talent. Does Gary Sheffield, Paul Molitor, John Jaha or Richie Sexson ring a bell. Mark my words, they will end up trading Ricky Weeks and Prince Fielder once they demand any money. Bud Selig is a f#cknut and this team will never return to glory until he sells the team.

 | neongraveyard (0) 07/27/2004 | Seilig is a jerk, and a horrible owner, it sucks for brewers fans but they will never better than 3rd place as long as he owns the team, any money he can get he will keep, so dont get your hopes up. Kudos to Brewers fans for rioting and tearing up Miller Park.

 | Aurielle (18) 06/23/2004 | Awesome team this year! Sure, they lost Richie Sexson, but since then, they've been doing excellent with all the new players they got from Arizona. Ben Sheets has pitched some really great games. They have a lot of potential and the players work well together. They won't get to the World Series this year, but maybe in a couple of years they will. I'm rooting for 'em.

 | resle (0) 06/23/2004 | Joke of a Franchise and will NEVER win another World Series. Sure, they have a good farm system, but each and EVERY one will be sold away for more prospects. What a JOKE.

 | chrisk1177 (0) 05/20/2004 | up and comers...fianlly. need to shore up the pitching rotation but should be able to contend seriously in 2006 or 2007. Ben Sheets has shown the ability to be a true #1 pitcher for this staff. Now if they can just prevent the Yankess from taking their best players.....

 | BeanoCook (3) 02/07/2004 | Great may be a little thick. The Brewers will win a division title soon and there is reason for optimism. Bud is selling the team and this is the right thing to do. I would have prefered an open air stadium without a roof but either way Miller Park is still top of the line. When the Brewers win again you will see support exceed that of teams in larger markets such as the Angels, White Sox, Mets and A's. I'll drink to that.

 | cjs13 (0) 07/02/2003 | new yost what a joke, could have had willie randolph a winner, and continue to live in the past with the 82 brewers retreads,a boring manager for a boring stadium in a boring city..people complained about the late 80s, early 90s brewers but they were always in contention..what happened?

If you live in, around, or near Milwaukee, you will feel a sense of loyalty for the Brewers. I know I like the Brewers. Davey Lopes has done a great job with the team. This year the Brewers will be Division Title contenders. Davey Lopes is a seasoned veteran of Batting, but not necessarily Skippering. His inexperience at the position showed until the Brew Crew obtained Richie Sexson. The Crew was 2 games over .500 in his presence. Sexson adds power to the lineup, as well as Jeffrey Hammonds, aquired in an off-season trade with the Rockies. With the new ballpark Miller Park being built, fan turnout should be the highest ever. The stadium is great, very much better than County Stadium. Hopefully, the Brewers will have some memories for the over 3,000,000 fans that WILL turn out, to see.
