There is a member using the alias of "USA College Towns.com (0)" who is credited with 1,200 weblists, but there is no way of getting to see them. Is that a bug in the system?

"Orphaned weblists"? "ORPHANED weblists"? Are we going to place a ringer-with-a-Salvation-Army bell next to them like the TV commercial?

Genghis is absolutely right. Often, I will look for the old lists because for whatever reason, I am not into reviewing what others are at a given time. Sometimes what's available for recent reviewing are topics that either don't interest me or I don't know enough about. I would love to see some of the old lists brought back to life. I think Djahuti had a great idea also when he said that it should be on a volunteer basis. Maybe there could be a list of lists available and up for grabs somewhere on the start page and we could apply for the jobs as we see fit.

I think this is a good idea and would pump some life into the old abandoned lists. Some of them are good and useful and should be updated.

I don't want to have someones deserted lists randomly foisted on me.If you could make it voluntary, that would be fine.

Given that lists are not supposed to be duplicated (at least the last time I looked that was the rule) and some members leave RIA, die (hey, it happens to all of us), or simply become inactive for an extended period of time, it appears to me that weblists created by such members (i.e. "orphaned" lists) should be either taken over by RIA management, deleted, or reassigned to a member who is interested. Frankly, I see no other working alternative to these three options, and the last seems the better of the three. First, RIA is probably not interested in managing most of the oddball weblists that have been or have the potential of being orphaned, but RIA should have the first option to take it over. Second, deleting the lists would also delete all the ratings and comments, so this is the worst solution in my opinion. The "adoption" option seems best, as an interested active member can manage the list and the prior activity isn't lost. Of course the rules and logistics would have to be established (e.g. setting the inactivity period, what starts and restarts the clock, and how the adopting member gets chosen). Since this issue has the potential of gumming up and dating the site if left unaddressed (plus I suggested it initially), I'm giving this suggestion five stars.
