Only giving this a one-star for stupidity as it's really pretty smart. Most guys only get engaged to GET OUT OF getting married. That's right. We all know it's a form of stalling. It's a "shut up" ring, to stop her whinging about when are things going to get serious. It also wrings out the last little bits of what's left of the relationship, so you can get whatever sex you can before (a) she actually sets a date and orders invites and (b) you manage to find someone else to shag. I know - I have a friend who makes it her business to get a nice "shut-up ring" before the end of every relationship. Then at least she has something to show for it. Pity though, for the girls who actually think he means it.
