Fat-guys and booger-eaters playing cards behind sunglasses? I want to watch sports, not hobbies. . .

I play poker and like it a lot, but its not a sport. This is not a sports championship, and it is no more interesting than watching my son mow the lawn.

Not what I call a spectator sport....there is a lot at stake and you have to know what you are doing but I cant stand to watch poker on tv...I would rather watch grass grow.

I'd get more excited watching curling.

To criticize it and not understand poker would be like me calling amateur home improvement people idiots for watching HGTV (though they are). In essence, ESPN's WSOP is a reality show. They cherry pick miles of footage for 5 or 10 interesting hands. To watch every hand on a poker table is deadly boring, but when you show purty little Jenny Harman's scrunched up face after she loses all her chips when her full house gets beat by a straight flush draw at the River -- now that's must see TV.

I like how every hand is updated in terms of percentage that a player has to win the pot. There is a lot of careful decision making that needs to be made and that is what makes this activity great.

I'm starting to lose interest it and I bet many others will follow. Will be a 3 next year and then down to its customary 2.

This is a series to show who has the most guts. Take Chris Moneymaker in 2003. How many people would bluff 2.5 million dollars on nothing against a poker ledgend like Sammy Farhaf?
