Ok Ok.....so, the bartenders here DO have the personalities of dishrags at first impression. BUT, give them time....they warm up, a little ;) And don't we all like to be abused a little from time to time by our bartenders?! The beer selection is great if you can stand the unfriendly staff and loud punk/rock music. But yelling a conversation to your friend has never been more fun. There's a fantastic sausage place next door where you order the sausage and then head next door to Toronado for a beer. They'll bang on the wall when your sausage is ready, top you off with whatever you like on it and send you on your way back to your delicious beer patiently waiting for you! It's the perfect combination.

I would never go here again. I will tell everyone I ever meet not to go here. The people who work here are sullen and impolite. The staff was the most unaccommodating I have ever come across. This is incredibly unfortunate, since they have an outstanding beer list.

The Toronado bar advertised 70+ beers on tap, including a solid stuffen of Municher beers, and beers titled, "Bacchus Night," and "The Devil's Elixir." One wonders where they store all the diverse selection of draft lights, but drinks pleasantly satisfy nonetheless. The price is reasonable for the San Francisco area.

Don't go to Toronado if you're looking for a Budweiser. They have a large selection of micro-brews on tap, across many different varieties, but no bottled beer (I don't think). It is a pretty big place with bar-type tables, so there is plenty of room to sit down. There aren't any pool tables, so this is the place to come if you're just looking for a place to drink some good beer.

A drinker's bar in the pure sense of the word. Plenty of tasty beers on tap, a back room for smokers, and a general "salt of the earth" feel make this bar a good place to put back a couple of pints. If you are in the Haight area of San Francisco, also try Mad Dog in the Fog - right across the street.
