I always enjoy Casanova a lot. It's dark inside with the typical Mission bar red lighting. I like the female paintings. The bartenders are always attentitive and I never wait long for a beer here.

This place is interesting. Swanky couches all over the place, a nicely put together bar, and trendy music make Casanova pretty hip. And the people are even more intriguing than the decor. I have met exotic dancers flown in from Michigan by middle aged sugar daddies, lesbian opera singers, artists, and normal joes in this bar, and everyone who I have talked to has been friendly, outgoing, and out to have a good time. Definitely worth a look.

Go early. Stay late too, that's fine, but make sure to show up early or it turns into Grand Central Station, and you'll be walking around shouting and holding your drink above your head all night. If you can stake out one of the comfy leather club sofas, you'll have beachfront real estate when the party gears up. Soak up those red lanterns, enjoy the nifty horseshoe-shaped bar, chat up the great mix of bargoers, and peep the velvet paintings of soft-core pinups (and one that looks like Drew Barrymore) adorning the walls. Show those hipsters how it's done.

It may be just across the street from Blondies, but it is a world apart from it. Dim, reddish tinted lighting, couches and a smooth vibe give Casanova a classy feel in the mission. It also get a hip, cool crowd, but not too much so. People are still friendly and approachable. It gets a little too crowded by about 11:00pm on weekends though.
