
She was State Senator 1991-96, 1996 Assistant Majority Leader (R), 1997-98 Director of the Office of Consumer Affairs and Business Regulations. Lt. Governor 1998-2001 until her
predecessor was appointed ambassador to Canada. She made headlines as she was pregnant in 1998 and a month after becoming governor she gave birth to twin girls. She did
