If you know for certain what is happening and you are capable of doing something, have at it.

Get involved no, without knowing the cercumstances you have no idea how dangerous the attacker may be...but help yes, by dialing 911...as with many of the items on this list.

I know I'm not a very big person and probably wouldn't be able to do much to scare off an attacker, but a lot of damage can be done while waiting for the police to arrive. At the very least, if someone's beating up on someone who can't defend themselves (esp. a child or an elderly person), immediate intervention is necessary. Some people would probably wonder "What if the person deserved it"? Well, there's no way of knowing right then and there (unless you saw what happened). Even if a person did "deserve" a beating, there's a point where it goes too far.

What do you mean by, "help"? Call the police and be done with it, or risk yourself to save another? I guess it doesn't matter, 'cause after I called the police, I'd probably risk myself without thinking twice about it.

You can probably tell if this is a fight between gangbangers or a drunken brawl (walk away). If a woman or young person is being attacked then step in if you are able.

Attacked by whom? What if they're being attacked by Police or undercover agents? Do you think they are an innocent victim or have they possibly done something to provoke their attacker? I have intervened in fights many times in my life,so I'm not looking for excuses-but speaking from experience, one ought to think fast and be sure you are #1) capable of handling the attacker and 2)reasonably sure that this attack is unwarranted.3)Don't forget that you may end up in court or even jail for your actions.

Hasn't happened to me yet but I'd like to think I'd get right in there.
