The person might legitimately need help that's stalled alongside the road. But, with the way things are, one cannot put their own life in jeopardy to stop for someone they don't know. However, I feel the same way as some others. You call the police and give them the info, and I believe you have done your best.

No. I will call AAA or the state police for them but not stop to help them. There isnt really anything else i can do for them anyway....I call AAA when Im in trouble. (or a good friend that works on my car)

I'd be skeptical if someone signaled for ME to pull over (I'm small and female; hate to stereotype, but most people would consider me fairly useless as a mechanic just judging by my size and gender). If they DON'T ask for help, so long as I can safely pull over behind them, I can ask them if they need any help from a safe distance. Since cell phones are so common, when I ask them if they need to use it they typically tell me they've already called. But, it doesn't hurt to stop and ask, just in case (so long as you make sure you're not endangering yourself). And, maybe it's presumptuous of me, but if I see someone who's very young (like "just got their license" young) or elderly, I'd be more likely to stop and ask if they need help changing their tire. If my husband were with me, though, I'd be more likely to stop to help more people (there's a lot of people who would get openly offended if someone as small as me stopped to ask if they need help. Well, if they're too proud to accept my help, then they're on their own!)

I do not think i would pull over especially if I am by myself. it could be a trick. too bad we have to be cautious in this age. it maybnot be safe. I would offer to call for help if they need it.

I hate to be so paranoid when it comes to being a good samaritan, but you don't know the types of people you could be helping out.

I'll usually help if: I'm not alone, it's daylight, and there are people around in case something DOES happen.

This is tricky. It's hard to be skeptical but there have been cases where this is a setup, and the good sumaritan gets robbed. I would usally keep driving and may phone the police depending on the looks of it.

I'd probably help them,as long as I didn't think it was a set up.I've done this several times already, and also been very glad when someone has offered me help in such a situation.
