The biggest name in pro football tries to OD on pills? I'd say it's a big story. As far as the validity, it's a wait and see, but the guy's persona is all over the map and I wouldn't put it past him. It might be a situation where he was sort of depressed about the injury and his decision to play in Dallas with a no-bs coach like Parcells, and the few pills he already took made him loopy on top of it and then he decided to take a few more and thereby endangered himself.

I don't buy it either. I really suspect that Owens did this just to grab the public's attention and sympathy. He really is a talented guy, but given his history, this is someone who certainly has issues. But, we also don't know the whole story yet, so maybe we shouldn't all judge so quick just yet.

You have to admit that this is a story. . .at least he's consistent with his 'quitting'- hey TO, try finishing something that you actually start for once. . .

I'm not buying it. The only thing I think he is depressed about is not being in the headlines every second.
