Like The Weather (10,000 Maniacs) 5

Probably the best and most remembered single by the 10,000 Maniacs, "Like The Weather" remains classic Big 80's alternative. Nothing deep here (at least in regards to the subject matter), but Merchant's breathy vocals are at their best, and the sharp guitar and chirpy percussion are simply irresistible. "Like The Weather" only reached #68 on the Hot 100, but the single did hit #37 on the Mainstream Rock chart in 1988. As far as I know, oddly enough there haven't been any covers.
