Because one person wants more control over another person, one wants to dominate another, have more power than another, have everything more than another, and when one fails, it brings disasterous outcome - hatered, jelousy, envy, prejudice,etc...

I know this will sound cliche, but with so much violence in the media and the vidio games the kids play I don't wonder if we are just becoming to desensitised and accepting. The internet has opened up a whole new can of worms allowing people of radical thinking to communicate with others thinking the same way and I am a believer that there is strength in numbers. Adds fuel to the fire. This is my oppinion not a scientific fact but I am watching each generation grow more and more aggressive. Then on the flipside you see the outpouring of kindness in the world like after Katrina or the tsenami. I try to focus more on the good things people do instead of dwelling on the bad. I have faith that not all the human race is bad.

When the bad things happen in life, many of us tend to ask ourselves why does this have to happen, what is the point of this experience? The lesson I've learned during such times myself is that the good and the bad are all part of life. It all comes down to attitude. You can either look at the glass half empty, and become a nihilist or you can consider mankind in terms of the good things we're capable of doing. And it's when we do see those instances of injustice, hate, and war that can we find the ability to stand up and do what's right, to make a better life for ourselves and for society at large by countering the negative side of our existence. Personally, I think its a lot better to see the glass as half full and live for the good aspects of life, despite all the killin' and hatin'.

"Killin and hatin" have gone on unchecked throughout written history.(Just check the Old Testament)The problem is,that although mankind has advanced TECHNOLOGICALLY,he has not evolved one iota out of his "fight or flight" reptilian brain instincts.Witness our current "president" whose only solution to a percievd "possible threat" is to blow up a bunch of civilians and have our troops mired in a country we sent spiralling into an all out "civil" war.In the old days, leaders had to LEAD-that is-put their own hyde where their mouth was.At least then we knew they really believed it absolutely necessary, and at least then the damage occurred a bit more slowly with swords and spears. In the same manner, street punks who once might have fought it out with switchblades are now toting Glocks and automatic weapons. To make things worse,we have a media that glamorizes this garbage byproduct of our consumerist,"bling" loving culture as "Gangstas".The only solution I can see is a VAST restructuring of our values. The childish need to "die with the most toys" has got to go,as does the self-righteous ideology that we should re-make the rest of the world in our image.

I saw on the news police are now worried about copy cat crimes. They're worried about kids killing other kids at school. Its crappy that we have to worry about getting killed instead of just worrying about getting passing grades.
