Some scenes aren't so great, and this movie could have stood a more vigorous edit, but for the most part Borat exposes common everyday bigotry in a most entertaining manner.

Amusing, but in a very unsophisticated way. If you enjoy casual racism, public masturbation and toilet humour, this is gold, but probably not for fans of Frasier...

Twice I've tried to make it through this flick but wandered off. I think Cohen has a sharp satiric eye and takes wicked delight in exposing small minded ugliness. But the overall effect as a cinematic experience amounts to watching stupid people act like assholes. I have better things to do with my precious time.

Worst thing ever. Sure it was supposed to be a guy that was from Kazakistan or whatever, but it hardly had anything funny in it. All the jokes were just a mocker. They didn't have any kind of comedy other than that and a little slap stick thrown in.

Let's get one thing straight- yes, it is a touch overrated. Yes, it's gross in parts and not for everyone. . .but this is fearless and brutal comedy with balls- and movies desperately need to grow some pubic hair and courage fast. "Borat" is a fearless film that spares nothing- when was the last time you could say that about a comedy film in today's uber-touchy society/film culture?

Being an outsider, Borat has the opportunity to get people to express what they are really thinking instead of what they say to be pc. In the Ali G. show this opportunity was used, for example when Borat got a fox-hunter to admit he hunted did it for the fun of killing, rather than tradition or a perceived fox-problem. In the movie he ruins these opportunities by childish, shit, piss and sex jokes. All in all, a missed opportunity.

I thought it was HILLARIOUS!! It made me laugh out loud several times! Although they could have left out the part where he wrestles nude with his friend. eeeeeeew
