 | LastMessenger3 (40) 10/06/2006 | My maternal grandma is Russian, which makes me a quarter Russian. I grew up mostly speaking Russian because my dad knows my mom's language, but she doesn't know his, which is Armenian. Even though I was surrounded by Russian people, I grew up to be more Near eastern(Armenian). Back in the days, being a child of a mixed marriage wasn't easy considering that my cousins on both sides either pure Armenians or pure Russians. It was very much like being Biracial in America, so I can sympathize with all the mixed kids. However, here in America, cultures are embraced and incouraged. It's a great place to be.
