An instrumental leading into a version of the Beatles classic. Ok overall. It's astonishing to remember how fast albums came out in those days compared to today. Deep Purple's debut came out in the summer of 1968, and the album that this appeared on, "The Book of Taliesyn" appeared in October of the same year. Clearly, after "Hush" had been a big hit and the first album had reached the top 25, their record label wanted to quickly capitalize on that success. Tetragrammaton was a small, new label, and Deep Purple were really the only successful outfit they ever had. Though this album was decent, it was probably the worst of the three, and though "Kentucky Woman" and "River Deep, Mountain High" were minor hits, the album failed to sell as well as the prior one had, and didn't reach the top 50. Obviously, the sales were already starting to wane.
