3.5 Although unreleased at the time, this lively instrumental track from the "Book of Taliesyn" era was actually quite good, with some excellent work on keyboards from Jon Lord. Like some other long lived contemporaries (such Fleetwood Mac for example) Deep Purple's career can be broken down into several very stylistically distinct parts, so I thought it would be best to split them up in terms of periods. Plus they have so many albums it's kind of a chore to put it all down. This weblist focuses on their first incarnation, when they were more of a pop/ psych early progressive rock act, so you will find "Hush" but you won't find many of their best known tracks like 'Smoke On The Water,"" Burn," etc. here.
