Like another well-known Hispanic singer Selena, he was cut off in his prime just as he was beginning to bloom. I liked his music and was glad to see that they re-introduced him to younger generations in the bio-pic La Bamba. Though it was made several years ago and Lou Diamond Phillips really didn't look much like Richie Valens physically, it was well done and well acted and serves as a nice tribute to this young man's life.
