I feel compelled to write just because I don't hate him; looking at this string of 1's you would think he was OJ. While he comes off as arrogant, he's knowledgeable and I can pretty much tune him out and focus on the game while picking up the key points.

The first time I heard Joe Buck announce a game on TV I thought I like him! How wrong I was, other than Stu Lance, Buck brings the most bias to the announcing booth I have ever seen. He really portrays this image of a little nerd trying to make everyone think he is cool. Like the annoying high school kid who isn't cool, but is loud enough to make up for it. Networks, please drop this guy!

With due deference to previous commenters, I contend that Mr. Buck insults and praises every team or player in every sport he calls in due measure, depending on how they seem to be doing in the game. He will credit a team or player for bad luck or castigate them for incompetence depending on the score at the time. He'll hate a team at the beginning of the game, then act as if the early innings, when he insulted the team, players, and fans, never happened when that team pulls ahead. If the team that is then behind overcomes the deficit in score, he will then act as if he knew it all along that they would. Being a loyal Atlanta fan for many years, I can assure you he is not biased in his treatment. I used to think he hated Atlanta, but after many years realized he was just trying to build up drama in the game, as he would sometimes act as if he was rooting for Atlanta all along. I recommend muting the television and listening to the game on the radio whenever possible when you wish to watch a game called by this troll. He is, in short, the most lothesome, obsequious know-nothing to ever curse the airwaves with his so-called "play-by-play". I wish him to consume excrement and thus expire.

Joe Buck seemed to have a subtle way of putting down the Phillies. I understand that he is being paid to be a commentator. However, he seems to have an issue with the Phillies.

Here's an idea... I've thought for a long time that MLB should have the announcers for each of the teams during the regular season in the series doing the games when they're at home. For instance; if the Giants were in the series and the game was in SF, Kruk and Kuip would do the announcing. When they're on the road, the other team's announcers during the regular season would do the job.

I think football is a better pace for Joe. Baseball gives him too much time to think and therefore, screw up. His bias toward the Rays is almost to the point of putting one's nose up Evan Longoria (maybe he's thinking Eva, he better watch out for Tony Parker) a**. Joe Buck just told the entire Fox Sports audience (Cowboys-Browns) that the GU 63 on everybodys uniform stood for Gene Upshaw and his age when he died. Um, Joe his uniform number was 63. This is just the latest example of his incompetence. He never corrected himself either. More of his typical arrogance. I like the mute idea better and better.

Son of a legendary broadcaster, and that's the only reason he has his job. His voice is okay, but he adds absolutely nothing to the broadcast via insight and often comes off as partisan over the course of a game.

Forget steroids and TO, Joe Buck is the absolute worst thing about professional sports today. He's better suited at performing "oral service" to Troy Aikman than calling football games.

As a sports fan, I shouldn't read these. I always have faith that the general sports public communicating on the web is intelligent. Again, you prove me wrong. Joe Buck has a tough job. Joe Buck does an amazing amount of work. Joe Buck has earned everything on his own. How many of you have been promoted because of someone you know. In reality, you could not do Joe Buck's job(s). You don't have the discipline, the organizational skills, the wit, or the drive to work that hard. No, you don't. Stop arguing with yourself! Get some self-esteem and go try hard at something where your every syllable is scrutinized. Half of you can't communicate with your family, let alone make a game attended by 20 to 100,000 people fit into the small perspectives of your lives. Jack Buck was Great !! and I watched him for 50 years ! But I do think Joe is a better student of the games I have seen him announce
. Everyone has their own style and he does not have the voice of his Dad, but I do enjoy his anaylsis of the games.
Everyone has their bench mark of announcing and my best was Dizzy Dean and Pee Wee Reese for baseball and Pat Summerall and John Madden for Football.

Joe Buck is terrible. His father must be rolling over in his grave. I understand that he works for Fox Network and he has to be unbiased, but he slams the Cardinals every chance he has. He's as bad as McCarver.

1. He does not know how to spot the ball.
2. He does not know anything about football.

More than obvious where his loyalty lies when working his NFL assignments. Seems to be very biased and readily makes excuses for the teams he wants to win and quickly downplays any accomplishments the opposing teams make. Watched the Seahawk game with North Carolina and although I hate the Seahawks I couldn't help but come away with my opinion.

I think Fox sports has created a monster. Who loves bringing up any negative about an althele.Thank God for Troy Aiknen who doesn't feed into that dumb talk about a player personal life or problems.
