Look. I'm Irish. When I drink, sometimes I get maudlin. If I'm a maudlin drunk and watch a moving scene, I can tear up.
And being Irish, if you say anything to me about this, I'll go upside your fookin' head with me shillellagh.

Yeah, only that most of them were in the privacy of my own home.

I cried the second time I watched "E.T.", and "My Dog Skip" had me bawling.

Sometimes I really think the tear gland has nothing to do with the emotional part of your brain. I cry even for the dumbest movie endings that don't seem sad at all. I will have to wonder if it's the ending that's dumb or it's me who is even dumber to cry for nothing.

Especially tear jerkers at the end.

I don't think i've ever actually cried.,although i have got lumps in my throat.

I can honestly say I have cried during a movie, especially if it was sentimental and heartwarming. The qualities of movies in general have gone down, in my opinion, so I don't have that to worry about much.

Yes and shows as well. Little House on the Prairie comes to mind.

I will cry when a movie is really good usually by myself. Never in public though. But once again it has to be pretty sad. I think the last movie was "The Notebook".

That's why I hate chick flicks. If you want to control some women, there's the way to go.

I can think of a few movies, the acting matters a lot... some people are good at making you believe the emotional tribulation is real and I empathize with the scenario. Although much of it has to do with one's own personalty.

Most of the time! I can put myself on another's person place and see and feel from that person's perspective. I am not embarassed at all though, I feel what I feel!

It's happened. Not often (can't have anyone calling me a "girlieman", God forbid!), but it's happened. Usually after indulging in some libation, but not always. There's an episode of the old Outer Limits TV show (still one of my favorite TV programs) entitled "The Demon With A Glass Hand", written by Harlan Ellison and starring the great Robert Culp. His character is a robot designed by humanity to save the race from invading aliens, and in the final scene, Culp's character ("Trent") attempts to connect on an emotional level with a human being, is rebuffed, and must face the coming interminable decades of loneliness. I don't know why, but that scene has choked me up from the first time I saw it as a young kid, until now. There's a scene from the movie "Mask" (not necessarily my favorite movie, but still well done overall, particularly in terms of the acting) that gets me. It's the dream of the deformed Eric Stoltz character to someday travel to Europe, and he makes a map with pins designating the cities and countries he's intending to visit. Unfortunately, he dies before he can do this. Realizing his end his near, he reluctantly pulls the pins from the map. After his death, Cher (his mother) replaces the pins, noting that now he's "free". Very emotional.
