I never quite got this. Even the pets seem to have a look the says "Will you shut the __ up!"

I currently don't have any pets, but I used to talk to my last one, a big Husky-Rottweiler cross, as though he was a drinking buddy. Funny thing was, he acted like one too.

If they are hurt I find myself doing it, but not normally.

I think all animal lovers do this. I don't know why we do it but our pets seem to love it.

I do this when it's time to take her outside to do her business,or when i've been gone a while and she is excited to see me.

I don't believe I ever have, unless I did so under the age of 5. Besides, what's the point?

I ask my mom's dog if she wants me to kick her so I can prove that dogs don't understand words. She always wags her tail when I ask...

It's a must if you intend to spoil them. Besides, that way when I do talk normal to my cats, they know they done something wrong.

I try not to but find myself doing it especially when I first get home or leaving for awhile. It must be the parent in us all thats the only thing I can think of. Never around my guy friends though they would never quit making fun of me.

sometimes as long as it is not too babyish. then I even irritate myself. my aunt and uncle had this big dog named "tiny". he would actually get mad if someone talked baby talk to him.i guess living with a name Tiny when he was huge was bad enough for him.

I try not to; I talk to them in a normal voice, then it just kind of devolves into a mumbling mess. Ugh.
