Almost;I bought 'Crime Story' on vhs.The series ran for two years and starred Dennis Farina as a Chicago detective.I have been depresed ever since they took the show off the air.

Exactly my sentiments, 'git...except that I don't watch any TV...and I'm pretty sure that I'd lose interest in most of them if I had to wait a week between episodes...even Deadwood and especially True Blood, or any of the Gordon Ramsay stuff. We do marathons around here and find ourselves rooting out loud for some of the characters...like a black audience at a Shaft movie.
THAT might be a little embarassing if anyone were peeping through a window...

Yeah. But since I don't watch TV much at all, it allows me to see something I like without the commercials, and at a time of my choosing.

I bought the entire X-Files series on dvd and I am contemplating getting 24. I also bought the Sopranos, come to think of it, and Upstairs, Downstairs.
Add Have Gun, Will Travel, that came in recently.
Fitman reminded me. I bought the entire Prisoner series at a garage sale, of all places.

Does VHS count? (a few years ago, I bought The Prisoner on tape.)

Why would it be embarrassing to do this? Some of the best TV is classic TV. Alfred Hitchcock Presents, Gunsmoke, Rawhide, Andy Griffith and Sanford and Son.

I have bought a season or two of tv shows I really like. I do not have a whole series of any of them. just favorite shows. like Mary Tyler Moore, Freaks and geeks, Two seasons of Everybody Loves Raymond. I could not afford to buy everything I like and would not have time to watch all of them. not embarassed though.nice to see the whole show without commercials. oh and I also have first Season of I Dream of Jeannie { i was feeling nostalgic that day}

Only because you can never find very many funny surgeouns anymore. xD

Nothing to do with whether I wanted to or not. Two factors: time to watch, and the fact that all fav series run in syndication on one or more of the many, many cable sites on TV today.

I bought the entire series of the cartoon "Dungeons and Dragons" on DVD and watched the whole set in one day, it was amazing I felt like a kid all over again.

Ive not done this because I didn't want to but as someone mentioned...it is expensive. I do have most of the Mash episodes on vhs from way back when, but can't afford the whole sets of the shows I like.

Like Ridgewalker, I don't find this embarrassing, just expensive, depending on what series you're buying. I have both seasons of the old "Outer Limits" series (naturally) and also have been buying what I consider to be one of the finest dramatic series ever..."The Wire". Also have bought the seasons of my favorite comedy series..."Curb Your Enthusiasm".
