We're almost certainly talking about a completely different sport here, but the English football season starts in the second week of August. Either way, this is very very welcome in my book.

It's a five-star rating for many sports fans here- but I'm going to sprinkle the hose on the parade. . .isn't the 'arrival' of the NFL really a late-summer Labor-Day thing instead of a truly Autumnal experience? Anyone?

I'm a baseball fan, so the summer is great for me. But I'm a Texas Rangers fan, so... Yeah, most years I'm ready for some football by the time September rolls around.

I do not pay much attention to football but my husband does. he is having his brothers over this Sunday to root for the Lions for their first game {that couunts} i will probably watch something else. would not deny football to those who love to watch the game.

The start of college football was the reason that the gold medal game in the Tournament of the Americas wasn't broadcast on a reasonable cable channel. Most of the tournament was on ESPN 2, but thanks to opening weekend of college football, the only way to watch USA trounce Argentina was if you had NBA TV. Football season also means watching Monday Night Raw in my room instead of the living room, because my roommate is a football addict. No love of football season from me.

I think the autumn is the best time of the year for sports. World Series time, and football begins again.
